Film Friday: Death of a Unicorn

I was not prepared for Death of a Unicorn. I saw it last night at AMC, and I’m still reeling. This isn’t your typical “quirky title, quirky movie” setup. It’s dark, weirdly tender, and bites back harder than you’d expect. Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega? Iconic. Their chemistry was razor sharp—equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking.
What starts out feeling like a road trip with a father and daughter turns into something way more surreal, set against a backdrop of capitalism, ethics, and—yep—a glowing unicorn.

Visually it’s stunning, but it also left me lowkey unsettled in the best way. Think Donnie Darko meets The Menu, but somehow with a glitter trail. If you like your films sharp, strange, and stylish, Death of a Unicorn is worth the trip. If you’ve seen it, drop your thoughts below—I need to talk about that ending.
