Their Long Road to Happiness
Noah’s relationship with his family was strained, so he never expected to be asked to return home, but what really shocked him was the news his childhood friend revealed about himself. Hunter had been crushing on Noah for years and never did anything about it, but he decided he wouldn’t let this chance go by without doing anything about it. Spending time in close proximity catching up on ten years apart, led to the tension between them growing and they ended their night in a mind blowing steamy encounter.
Unfortunately, the morning after brought uncertainty between Noah and Hunter, as he wasn’t sure how their relationship would work due to the distance and his hectic life in the city. However, Hunter wasn’t prepared to let Noah get away, so he did everything possible to convince him to give them a chance, which led to him deciding on taking a chance. This heartwarming story pulled me into story and had me glued to the pages all the way to the end. My only advice is that you prepare yourself for a cliffhanger, that will leave you eager to read the next instalment of the story.
A story of forgiveness, belonging, and a love that never died.
Be sure you read the bonus book: Hunter’s Story: First Flame, before you read Homecoming Heat. I cried while I was reading First Flame. Both books made me feel like I knew Hunter and Noah personally, not just as characters in a book. A story of a love that ten years apart never died. This story will touch your heart.
MM Holiday Romance
Homecoming Heat is a tender, emotionally grounded MM holiday romance that balances festive warmth with the ache of unresolved family wounds. At its heart is Noel, whose return home is anything but comforting. Ryan does an excellent job conveying Noel’s anxiety about facing a family who disowned him, every worry, hesitation, and spike of dread feels authentic and deeply human. His fear isn’t just about the past; it’s about whether he deserves a place in his family’s present at all.
In contrast, Hunter provides a steady, loving counterpoint. Rather than pushing Noel toward a neat holiday reconciliation, Hunter focuses on something far more meaningful, Noel’s happiness and sense of safety. His encouragement to stay isn’t about running away, but about giving Noel permission to choose himself. The dynamic between them is gentle and supportive, making their romance feel like a refuge rather than a distraction.
Ryan crafts a cozy holiday setting without glossing over the emotional weight carried by both characters. Homecoming Heat is a heartfelt read about belonging, chosen family, and the courage it takes to decide where “home” truly is.
