As the first book in the Sporting Secrets series, this M/M sports romance delivers all the tension you’d hope for when two competitors find themselves fighting feelings just as hard as they’re fighting for victory. The rivalry creates instant chemistry, but it’s the emotional journey underneath that kept me turning pages.
Calder does a fantastic job balancing the competitive world of professional sports with the personal struggles of the characters. Every interaction feels charged, whether they’re pushing each other’s buttons, testing boundaries, or slowly realizing there’s a lot more between them than rivalry.
What I loved most is that the romance never loses sight of the vulnerability beneath the bravado. It’s a story about ambition, trust, and discovering that the person challenging you the most might also understand you better than anyone else.
