DAMN! Raw HEAT from the start, torrid. Is this Ryan Moore, whose first story was about masquerade and the masks we wear, flirtation and wit, amusement and possibility leading to a first date; the second tale an age-gap affair, somewhat taboo, with a final sensual/sexual scene between ‘fated’ lovers? This one, though maybe not to everyone’s taste, begins with FIRE. Didn’t say I didn’t like it.
Perhaps I should have expected it, as this is an ‘escort’ tale. Luke, successful, middle-aged, married father of two, has never quite gotten over being ‘taken’ by his college buddy. Restless, the wife and kids distant, he gives in to repressed urges and searches for a dom/sub add. Evan is as described and more than fills Luke’s needs, and has some surprising depths, hinted at in promising dialogue (probably to be explored in Moore’s ‘freebie’ stories).
Again, the author is adept at conversation, and the possibilities between these two is left open ended with room for growth, HFN. Something about Moore’s writing causes me to fall back into reveries of my own trysts, I relate to his words and characters in a personal way. Eyes misted over, but not a tear on my metrosexual cheeks, if I ever had such a connection, I might be different man. Ah, Romance! But I digress. Structure here is interesting, beginning with sex, then character building, and then working through needs and wants to budding relationship. Moore is playing with his range, improving his skills.
I’m going to his next story, as it will be different, again.
