During the weekend, I spent time in Capitol Hill celebrating Seattle Pride, soaking in the energy of a community that continues to inspire me both as a writer and as someone who simply appreciates spaces where people are free to be themselves. There was music everywhere, sidewalks full of laughter, rainbow flags stretching from storefronts and balconies, and thousands of people showing up to celebrate love, identity, and belonging. It was impossible not to smile walking through it all.
As someone who writes M/M romance, weekends like this are a reminder of why these stories matter. Spending time surrounded by so many people confidently living their truth is both humbling and inspiring. I wandered through Capitol Hill for hours, stopping for coffee, browsing local shops, listening to live music, and simply taking everything in. The conversations, the laughter, the creativity, and the overwhelming sense of community stayed with me long after I headed home.
Some weekends are about adventure. Others are about remembering that stories begin with people. Happy Pride, everyone. β€οΈπ§‘ππππ
