Weekend Wrap: Cycling Alongside Elliott Bay 🚴

During the weekend, I spent the day cycling along the Seattle waterfront, following the rhythm of the bay beneath a sky that finally felt like spring settling in for good. There’s something about riding near the water that changes the pace of everything. The city still surrounds you, ferries crossing Elliott Bay, people filling the parks, the skyline rising behind it all, but movement smooths the edges. Thoughts stop feeling tangled. Everything becomes simpler: pedal, breathe, keep going.

I rode through stretches of waterfront trail where the air smelled like salt and sun-warmed pavement, then slowed near the piers to watch the ferries cut across the water. Seattle always feels different from the shoreline, less crowded somehow, more open. By late afternoon, the light turned softer, reflecting off the bay in long silver streaks. I ended up staying out longer than planned, letting the ride carry me wherever it wanted to.

Honestly, weekends like this remind me why I love this city.
