This weekend, Seattle’s weather treated us to bright skies and perfect paddling temps in the low 70s. I set out for a morning kayak on Lake Union — a uniquely Seattle experience where city energy meets gentle ripples. From my kayak, I watched seaplanes skim the water, admired floating homes that have become part of Seattle’s story, and drifted past classic wooden sailboats catching the breeze.
There’s a magic to Lake Union: the blend of skyline reflections, quiet coves, and boats passing by, each with its own weekend adventure. For a couple of hours, the city felt close yet far away — a different perspective only the water can offer. If you’ve never tried paddling Lake Union, it’s a must. Sunrise or sunset, there’s always something special waiting beyond the next paddle stroke. ![]()
