During the weekend, I returned to Benaroya Hall for a Seattle Symphony performance — the kind of night that unfolds quietly, one note at a time, until you’re completely lost in sound. The program moved between winter and spring: somber cellos, bright violins, and the soft tension of pieces that feel like change itself.
I love the way a symphony draws people together — strangers breathing in rhythm, listening not only to the music but to one another. Outside, the air was cold, but inside, the hall glowed with warmth and focus. For a few hours, time felt both suspended and infinite. Walking back through the city afterward, streetlights blurred in puddles, echoing the shimmer of strings still playing somewhere in memory.
