Weekend Wrap: South End Craft Fair, Spanaway

There’s a certain kind of magic in the Pacific Northwest when the air turns crisp and the leaves start to fall. This weekend, I leaned into that slower rhythm and headed south to the South End Craft Fair at Spanaway Lake High School — and it was everything cozy November should be.

The fair was alive with the hum of conversation and creativity. Rows of tables overflowed with handmade candles, small-batch soaps, wool scarves, ceramics glazed in earthy tones — each piece telling a story. There was something grounding about wandering between booths, chatting with the artists, and hearing how they balance their craft with everyday life. The smell of roasted nuts and apple cider filled the air, and laughter seemed to echo through every corner.

It reminded me that art doesn’t only live in galleries or online stores — it’s right here, thriving in community halls, gymnasiums, and the hands of people who create because they love to. That quiet, persistent creativity is what makes the Pacific Northwest feel like home.
